Warwick Castle is one of the top ten tourist attractions in the UK. It's a fascinating day out for adults and children and when compared to other tourist attractions in the UK, it represents excellent value for money.
Set in the heart of the English countryside, it is still easy to reach from all over England especially by train, bus or car from London or Birmingham. It's also only 8 miles away from Stratford-upon-Avon, the home of Shakespeare. Click here for details of directions on how to get to Warwick Castle and car parking arrangements when you arrive.

HISTORY
This page and the pages linking from it, give you all the information you will ever need to make the most of your visit to the Castle. Warwick Castle has been on its present site from at least 914 when Ethelfleda, the daughter of Alfred the Great, constructed a rampart to protect the area from invading Danes. Click here for a full history of the castle.

BUYING TICKETS
Before you visit the castle it's worthwhile exploring the options available for buying tickets. Tickets can of course be bought at the gate but they can also be bought online. The official Warwick Castle claims that booking online gives you a 10% discount but that's not how we see it! For starters, when booking online you need to pay an online booking fee which increases the online price. Then, there's different prices depending on the time of year you visit. Best click here for clear details of the prices and latest discounts available.
