We weren't impressed with the Ghost Alive show at Warwick Castle
especially at an extra £2.75 per person over and above the entrance fee. |
 |
It tells the story of the death of Sir Fulke
Greville at the hands of his servant Ralph Haywood. They had a
disagreement about Ralph's legacy in Sir Greville's will and
Ralph murdered him. The point of the story is that Sir Fulke
Greville's ghost is supposed to haunt the Ghost Tower (formerly
the Watergate Tower).
The queues are always long for this "additional"
attraction but we believe your time (and money) is best spent
elsewhere around the castle. Yes it is a bit scary, it certainly
scared the wits out of our seven year old son (be warned, he was
petrified!). But that's it really! Sorry to disappoint or if
your opinion differs. |

His body is laid to rest in a particularly impressive tomb at
St Mary's Collegiate Church which is a five
minute walk from the castle (see above picture, click to enlarge).
