We may have been a bit daft but finding
the location of the Craft Village proved a problem for us.
The signs are conflicting and some are just plain wrong. To
help you, we show a detailed map of the area, click the map
on the right to enlarge it.
Ta'Qali Craft Village is located on an
old airfield in Central Malta. Entrance is free and there
are lots of shops to wander round. But it was all a bit 'touristry'
for our liking.
If you are looking to see glass been made though then this
Craft village is for you. There are three glass companies on
site, including Mdina Glass and you can see the craftsmen
blowing and forming the glass in front of your eyes. |

If you are looking for
traditional Maltese lace being made however, then we
think you will be unlucky. we asked and were told
the lace was made by women in their houses nearby.
If you plan to got to Gozo then give Ta'Qali a miss.
The Gozo craft centre may be a bit smaller but it is
better laid out and you can see glass and Maltese
lace being handcrafted in front of your eyes.

details of the Gozo craft centre. |
