Transport from Madrid airport to the city centre is available either
by taxi, metro or bus. Forget the bus! Taxi or metro are the best
methods.
For a taxi (taxi) follow the signs to the official taxi
ranks. Expect to pay around €20 to €23 and the journey will take you
around 20 minutes depending on traffic. Don't use unofficial taxis,
drivers of these may well approach you inside the terminal.
For the metro (metro) follow the signs from any of the
terminals. The airport metro station (Aeropuerto metro) is
between Terminal 2 and 3. See here
for specific metro details. Buy a 10-ride ticket (Billete de diez
viajes / Metrobus) because it's cheaper that way and you'll need the
remaining tickets to get you round Madrid later on. Pick up a free metro
map at Aeropuerto metro. |
