From the outside the Sagrada Familia is
unusual to say the least. The different facades have been
constructed at different points in its life and display
significantly different construction styles. There is also
the problem that the exterior is covered in cranes and
scaffolding and likely to stay that way for many years.
Unusual, yes; worthy of a visit, yes; beautiful, most
definitely not in its present state of construction.
The interior of the Sagrada
Familia is a total disappointment unless you are
interested in seeing a largely incomplete church
interior. Much of the area is cordoned off to allow
construction work to continue. Vehicles are parked
in the interior (see right), many statues are
covered and there is the continuous noise of drills.
To add insult to injury the
entrance charge is €12 per person. Take our advice,
look at pictures of the interior, click our video
below to see the interior and then give the interior
a big miss and save yourself a very generous
€12. The view from the roof is spectacular but you
will be charged again and the queue is massive.
